Why I’m Hooked on Hailey Bieber’s Rhode Line (And You Might Be Too)

Updated: Mar 30

Hey, girlfriend! There aren’t many things that occupy my brain rent-free, but when Hailey Baldwin Bieber showcased her silicone lip gloss case, it became my Roman Empire. I couldn’t live peacefully until I had one of my own. Sure, the photobooth marketing was genius, but that’s not why I was so eager to get my hands on it…

As someone with full lips, lip gloss is a non-negotiable in my daily routine. I keep one in my makeup bag, one in my purse, one in my pocket, one in my car console, one on my bedside table, and—let’s be real—several more stashed just in case one goes missing. Am I right?

While some critics thought the case was unnecessary, I was immediately sold. Honestly, the only thing I’m more attached to than my lip gloss is my phone. So when Rhode dropped their second batch of cases this past April, I set an alarm to be one of the first to buy one. Thankfully, they’re still available on the website, so my sense of urgency turned out to be a little over the top. But hey, I didn’t want to risk buying it from a reseller!

Buying Hailey’s case and peptide treatment just made sense to me. It’s an investment in lip care, phone protection, and let’s be real, my inner fangirl who lights up when I own something a celebrity or influencer does.

I’ve always gravitated towards simple phone cases—I've even owned a few transparent ones. So the minimal aesthetic of both the gloss and the case was a huge draw. Beyond appearance, both products have this lovely soft feel—the case thanks to its silicone design and the treatment with its gorgeous glaze texture. I opted for the watermelon flavor to match the summer vibes, and it is mm mm yummy!

Since I bought it, I haven’t reached for any of my other lip glosses. You could say I’m spoiled by always having this one within arm’s reach, but honestly, the others were either flavorless or just way too sticky. The one exception is my Bath and Body Works menthol treatment, but the bright design reminds me of Lip Smackers (ifyky). The Rhode peptide honestly ticks all the boxes for me!

My love for the case and lip treatment led me down the Rhode rabbit hole, and before I knew it, I’d bought the entire skincare line. At $109 for four products, the price is actually pretty reasonable compared to other celebrity-backed lines.

I can honestly say I’ve seen a few miraculous changes in my skin after just two weeks of using it. A huge breakout I had disappeared virtually overnight (and I’m used to battling acne for at least a week). My face also has this glowing, not oily, look, which is a major win for me.

For years, I’ve struggled with oily skin. Blotting sheets and setting powders were my ride-or-die products, but Rhode (and the Korean skincare movement) have completely changed my perception of healthy skin. Now, having a natural shine isn’t a bad thing—it’s the goal!

Rhode doesn’t make my skin more oily like I initially feared. The face wash gently cleanses without that tight, squeaky feeling. The Glazing Milk is my personal favorite—it’s where most of that ‘glow’ comes from. I use a few drops, and if I’m doing my morning routine, this is where I stop because it’s that hydrating. It even works as a perfect primer for my makeup, and when my skin produces oils later in the day, it’s a pleasant result—not horrifying.

At night, I finish with the last two products in the line—the original Glazing Serum and Barrier Restore Cream. The serum is velvety, and a little goes a long way (one pump is enough for my face and neck). The Barrier Restore Cream has a creamy texture that makes my skin feel protected without the greasy, suffocating feeling some creams leave behind. When I wake up, my skin feels moisturized, refreshed, and glowing.

This isn’t an ad or an invitation to join a cult—just an honest review from someone who loved the case and thought, ‘Why not go all in and try everything else?’ Worst-case scenario, I’d use the bag for travel or let the products look cute in my bathroom. Thankfully, they actually work. And as a minimalist who has gone through extreme curation practices, I’m happy to report they look great in my bathroom, too.

Needless to say, I’m very happy and satisfied with my purchase. My only disappointment is that I can’t take everything with me because of the bottle sizes. If they dropped a travel-size version, I’d be first in line… again. Whether I’m getting ready to go out or unwinding for bed, Rhode has given me a routine I can look forward to.
