Autumn Adventures: A November to Remember

Updated: Jan 27

Hey girlfriend! The holiday season is here, and to kick off November, I thought it would be fun to create a weekend challenge full of activities to enjoy this month. November is known for its good food, football games, and holiday deals, but we can’t forget the importance of spending time with family. Below is a list of ideas you can do with your special ones.

1. Football Tailgate

For the first weekend, a football tailgate is in store! These heartwarming events remind us of the importance of community. Whether you attend a professional, college, or high school game, you’re sure to have a blast. Be sure to bring blankets and hot cocoa to stay warm while cheering on your team.

2. Bake Goods

The second weekend is all about relaxing and recovering from the excitement of the previous one. Stay home, cozy up, and bake a pie or any sweet treat. This time of year brings good company and great food, making it the perfect opportunity to experiment with new recipes for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving dinner.

3. Vote

The challenge for the third weekend is arguably the most important of the month: go out and vote. I won’t sway you toward any side—I’ll simply encourage you to support yourself. Many brave people in history fought to secure this right, and it remains an understated privilege. Take time to exercise your voice and fulfill your civic duty.

4. Visit Loved Ones

Another important weekend of the month is the fourth: Thanksgiving. Use this time to gather with loved ones and enjoy each other’s company. Reflect on the year and consider how you want to spend the upcoming one. Let this weekend remind you of the important, priceless things in life.

5. Support Small Businesses

The final weekend of the month is a bit more festive and involves shopping! The holidays bring amazing sales, but while chain stores may get all the hype, take some time to support small businesses. These local business owners put their heart and soul into their products, and shopping small is a wonderful way to spread kindness while also getting ahead on Christmas shopping.

That wraps up the list! These challenges are simple yet significant, encouraging presence and mindfulness—something that can be hard to find during the holiday rush. I hope you enjoy these activities with your loved ones.

Happy holidays and happy November!
